Shoes glorious shoes

Love them or loathe them, we all wear them, some of us even have 100’s of them, so why is it that the perfect pair eludes us? How do you know what shoes are right for you and where do you start?

• Ask yourself when and where are you likely to wear them.

• Always buy the correct size shoe for your feet. This will save hours of pain and £££’s at the chiropodist.

• Always shop on a full stomach to avoid impulse purchases.

• Are you in between sizes? Half inner soles will eventually stretch the shoe making it even bigger. Ttry heel grips as an alternative.

Browse magazines for inspiration or let me do the leg work for you and book your style review today.

Many of us have individual needs when it comes to shoes, try these on for size.

Fashionable shoes in larger sizes, check out

Love boots but can’t get them to fit your calf, try

Interesting trivia: Shoes all over the world were identical until the nineteenth century, when left and right-footed shoes were first made in Philadelphia.

Party perfect

The party season is here but is your party in full swing? We all have a few things up our sleeve for a night out but do you want to be one of the crowd or, stop traffic? The key to jaw dropping outfits is to wear them with confidence. Whether it’s designer label or from the high street, choose clothes that make you radiate from the inside out.

Start by..

• Identifying the shapes that suit you best.
• Know your colours.
• Accessorising – this means shoes and bags too.
• Once dressed, check yourself out in the mirror -work it baby.

The shops are brimming with party pieces. Keep it simple and wear a silk lined dress and killer heels. Or go for the mix and match and team a tulip skirt with a chiffon shirt and faux fur collar.

Check out these stores for starters - Whistles, Matches in Westbourne Grove, and Monsoon.

All things that sparkle

All things that sparkle are not just gold. Think radiance and shine when applying your festive make-up. Now the rule here is less is more. Choose just one area of your make-up to add shine or risk looking like an oil slick.

There are so many products to choose from. Here are some of my favs..

Foundation: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation or Christian Dior’s Tient Diorlight Sheer Luminous Foundation.

Highlighting your cheek bones and under your eyebrows: Shu Uemura pressed eye shadow 915 or Mac multi purpose pigment in Pink Opal or Frost

Eyes: Benefit – show offs, comes in 10 iridescent shades or Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer wash eye shadow in gold, snow or sterling

Lips: Stila- lip glaze or Laura Mercier’s Lip Shimmer or simply apply a shimmer gloss over your favourite lip shade.

Style Q&A

Josephine asks

I am a recent dabbler in night creams and I would like some advise on what to use. My boyfriend is a lot younger than me so I don’t want to look like Nora Batty in bed.

Aimee answers

I hear you about the night creams. Who wants to look like their grandmother in bed? Thankfully with today's products we can look gorgeous 24/ 7.

At night the metabolic activity of the skin cells are at their highest, therefore when we are sleeping, our bodies are repairing themselves. That goes for our skin as well so it is vital to use a good quality cream. Try Dr Hauschka or Dermalogica

Note - Apply your cream about a half hour before you go to bed so that it isn't transferred to the pillowcase.
